This course is designed to overview the most current trends in the remediation and assessment of mold, microbial and other moisture-based contamination within a building envelope. In the absence of specific State and/or Federal certification requirements, this course is formatted to include information for all occupations dealing with mold and moisture-related problems (e.g. maintenance, construction and EH&S). This overview course addresses the fundamentals of mold/microbial prevention techniques, assessment techniques, sampling techniques and current mold/microbial remediation guidelines. This course will be completed in an eight hour training session.
Topics include: Background Information on Microbials, Health Effects, Building Moisture, Inspection Techniques (Visible and Hidden Microbials), Assessment Techniques, Sampling Strategies, Moisture Prevention Techniques, Regulatory Overview, Remediation Planning, Work Area Preparation, Respiratory Protection, Abatement Control Methods and Personal Hygiene.
