ExpiredManagement Planner Initial (16-hours)

This 16-hour course is designed for personnel who are responsible for using data gathered by NYS licensed Asbestos Building Inspectors who then assess asbestos in buildings, determine appropriate response actions, develop realistic schedules for implementing response actions and develop methods for day-to-day operations in dealing with identified asbestos. Prior completion of the 24-hour NYS Asbestos Building Inspector course is required as a prerequisite. This course is conducted over a minimum of two (2) days. The total instruction time includes both formal classroom instruction as well as physical hands-on training. Successful completion of this course will enable the individual to apply for NYS certification as a licensed Management Planner (MGPL) and fulfills EPA accreditation requirements.

Course Topics to include: Evaluation & Interpretation of Asbestos Survey Results, Asbestos Hazard Assessment, Legal Implications, Selection of Control Options, Role of Other Professionals, Developing an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Plan, Regulatory Review, Recordkeeping, Assembling the Asbestos Management Plan and Financing Abatement Actions, Final Examination (multiple choice), Etc.

**Any individual looking to obtain this license MUST have a NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles Driver’s License Number or Non-Driver ID Card (DMV-ID) as required by the NYS Dept. of Labor Licensing Unit.
