This course is designed for personnel who are responsible for determining how asbestos abatement project work should be conducted. This course is conducted over a minimum of three days. The total instruction time of 24 hours includes only formal classroom training. Successful completion of this course will enable the individual to apply for Project Designer certification by New York State and fulfills EPA accreditation requirements.
Topics include: Core Topics (History, Identification, Current Regulations, Health Effects, Protective Clothing, Abatement Control Options), Overview of Abatement Construction Projects, Safety System Design Specifications, Field Trip, Employee PPE, Additional Safety Hazards, Fiber Aerodynamics & Control, Designing Abatement Solutions, Cost Estimating, Writing Abatement Specifications, Final Clearance Process, Preparing Abatement Drawings, Contract Preparation & Administration, Legal & Liability, Replacement Materials, Role of Other Consultants, Occupied Buildings.
