This 8-hour course is designed for personnel who either currently hold a valid EPA/NYS Asbestos Project Designer certification or have successfully completed a NYS approved Asbestos Project Designer training program within the past 12-months. The total instruction time of 8-hours solely includes formal classroom training only. Successful completion of this course will enable personnel to plan the scope, timing, phasing and remediation methods for an asbestos project.
Course Topics to include: Federal, State & Local Asbestos Regulations, Project Designer Roles & Responsibilities, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Abatement Work Practices, Medical Surveillance & Monitoring, Personal Hygiene & Decontamination Systems, Work Area Preparation & Installation of Protective Barriers/Containments, Clean-up & Disposal, Safety Hazards, Legal Liability & Insurances, Contract Specifications & Understanding Inspection Reports, Performing Contamination Assessments & Developing Site-specific Variance Petitions, Project Designer Workshop/Case Study, Final Examination (multiple choice), Etc.
