QuES&T provided an emergency response following a fire in a chemical facility in Mount Vernon, NY. QuES&T worked closely with MEG, and numerous Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies to address the myriad of issues associated with runoff from the site, site assessment and community air monitoring. QuES&T assisted in the development of community air sampling protocols, collections methods and locations immediately following the incident until its completion more than 30 days after the initial response.

QuES&T’s Industrial Hygienists and Safety professionals collected air samples from multiple locations surrounding the scene using a variety of collection strategies. The samples were then processed on rapid turnaround times to provide accurate and timely information for both the regulatory agencies and the cleanup contractor. QuES&T interfaced with agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DEC, PD, FD and DHS throughout the project.
